Raised in Georgia, Seth went to Boston for undergrad at Berklee College of Music and later to Southern California for graduate studies in theology and art at Fuller Theological Seminary. As a church leader, Seth’s hope is to connect the riches of the Christian faith to all of life, and he believes the arts are essential to the task. Seth comes to All Angels from Epicentre Church, Pasadena, CA, and the Antioch family of churches in which he served for more than 10 years. Seth and his wife Emily live in Harlem with their three young’uns, Lydia, Thad and Gus.
DR. DAN SIEDELL, VISUAL ARTS CURATOR
Daniel A. Siedell (Ph.D. The University of Iowa) is Senior Fellow, Modern Art History, Theory & Criticism at The King’s College in New York City. He was previously Assistant Professor of Modern & Contemporary Art at the University of Nebraska and organized over one hundred exhibitions and worked with numerous contemporary artists on exhibition and book projects during his decade-long tenure as Chief Curator of the Sheldon Museum of Art. His books include Weldon Kees and the Arts at Midcentury (University of Nebraska Press, 2004); Martínez Celaya: Early Work (Whale & Star, 2005); God in the Gallery (Baker Academic, 2008); Who’s Afraid of Modern Art? Modern Art & Theology in Conversation (Cascade, 2015); and Enrique Martínez Celaya: Work and Documents, 1990-2015 (Radius Books, 2016). He served as the inaugural Scholar-in-Residence at the New City Arts Initiative in Charlottesville (2012-13) and is part of a four-year research project on the topic of Theology, Modernity and the Visual Arts at King’s College London and in collaboration with Duke University.
He and his wife, Kerri, of twenty-eight years have three adult children and live in Pompano Beach, Florida.
