Giving From God’s Abundance
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.2 Corinthians 9:7-8
We envision a community life at All Angels’ that is marked by our common commitment to God’s economy of abundance. In a world in which fear, economic anxiety, and scarcity often dominate the headlines, we strive to be a community of disciples transformed by Christ’s overflowing love such that we live generously with both our individual and collective resources.
Our default assumption is that the world and everything in it – including our money – belongs to God. He provides, in his good timing and in his good way. In a city frequently defined by extreme wealth and extreme poverty, we strive to create space for transparent conversations about money, its role in and power over our lives, and how God calls us to use it. We confess the ways in which our relationships to money are broken, offer our gratitude for God’s abundant provision through his son Jesus, and invite God to sanctify (make holy) this and all areas of our lives.
As a community, we engage in regular reflection on how to best steward our resources, inside and outside the church. This includes prayerfully considering on how we are individually and collectively called to support the ministries of our own church and those of our partners, locally and around the world.
Please help us help others as we rebuild our kitchen
Our goal is to raise $220,000 before the end of the summer to completely renovate the kitchen and support the ongoing work of hospitality at All Angels’ Church. We hope that you will prayerfully consider giving to be a part of this vision of hospitality for all who walk through our doors and call All Angels home.
