We believe that all of life is to be lived in thankful, worshipful response to who God is. Our Sunday services give us an opportunity to gather and worship God together as a unified community. (1 Corinthians 10:31; I Thessalonians 5:16; Psalm 133:1)
Spirit and Truth
The Bible teaches that we worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24). Meaningful, engaged, spirit-filled worship comes about first and foremost through the help of the Holy Spirit. As we bring ourselves before God individually and collectively, the Holy Spirit leads us into an encounter with the living God. True worship in the spirit is most fully realized when it is fueled by truth, the good news of the gospel (Eph. 1:13). As we meditate on the death and resurrection of Jesus for our salvation, and contemplate the richness of God’s character, we are able to worship him with greater depth of understanding. Worshipping God in spirit and truth is an expression of our love for God as it says in Mark 12:30: “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Worship and Art
From the intricate complexities of creation in the first chapters of Genesis, to the ornate decoration of the throne room of heaven in Revelation, we see God’s creative artistic expression throughout scripture and in the world. As people created in the image of God, we understand the powerful impact art can have in stirring our hearts, convictions, and emotions. At All Angels’, music, visual art, drama, literary art, and dance serve as a means through which we worship God in spirit and truth and enhance our corporate worship weekly and seasonally. The contributions of the artists in our community help us express and understand things about God that might otherwise be inexpressible. Our hope is that through these creative gifts, people will be directed toward the ultimate Creator--God Himself.
