“The poorest of the poor will find pasture, and the needy will lie down in safety.”
“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody…is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.”
Community Ministries Vision: Community Ministries exists to empower and equip people struggling with homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges to be dependent on God, independent in self-care and inter-dependent within the Community.
Community Ministries Programs:
The Pathways program exists to minister to the basic needs of homeless men and women. We afford men and women an opportunity to have a light continental breakfast, get a shower, receive mail, and obtain medical, psychiatric and social services. Pathways functions as a conduit into the larger community of All Angels’ Church and community programs. This ministry operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm (doors open for women at 8:30am).
•Leadership Training/ Mentoring Program
All Angels’ Church is committed to making disciples and training leaders among the marginalized community. For those who are growing Christians and aspire to leadership positions in the church and community programs we have a one-year program to facilitate this growth. In the fall, leadership candidates participate in a Life Skills Training program sponsored by The Interfaith Assembly on Housing and Homelessness. Classes are held 2x per week and each candidate is assigned to a mentor. In the winter and spring the candidates transition in a leadership-training program facilitated by the Director of Community Ministries. Upon completion of these programs, candidates are eligible to become wellness and church leaders.
Sunday Ministries Program
On Sundays, all are invited to participate in:
•Bible study Class for all at 3:45pm
•Worship Service at 5:00pm
•Community Meal for the homed and homeless at 6:00pm
•Sunday volunteer-run shelter: houses 10 men and 10 women each week.
•Monthly Sunday Street Outreach: Where we go out on the streets to evangelize the good news and give food to those in need.
