All Angels' Church is a diverse community of people, artists, families, singles, and students, bound together by a common faith, love for God and love for our city. We were planted by St. Michael's Episcopal Church in the 1830s as a mission in Seneca Village (now Central Park) to freed and runaway slaves and new immigrants from Europe. Today, we continue that mission in being a visible sign of God's invisible kingdom breaking through the dividing walls of racial, socio-economic and generational differences in our world.
Our vision is to see people transformed by the gospel, formed into the image of Christ and empowered for missional living.
Transformed by the Gospel
We believe that the Gospel declares that we are forgiven and righteous because of the work of Jesus Christ. This glorious grace transforms people from the inside, out and brings healing, restoration, justice and peace to individuals, the family, the church, the city and the global community.
Formed into the image of Christ
We believe this transformative encounter with Christ leads to a journey of formation into His likeness. We are intentional about nurturing spiritual maturity in every member through God inspired worship, cultivating the spiritual disciplines, training in the process of repentance and renewal, embracing a Christian worldview and embodying the character of Christ. We seek to discern and cultivate the spiritual gifts of every member and develop godly leadership in our midst.
Empowered for missional living
We believe that every member is “on mission” in their homes, at work, in their spheres of influence and in the world. We seek to create a culture of evangelism understanding that “conversions” are the norm and not the exception. We challenge and train each member to be actively sharing their faith and participating in the outreach of the church.
